What does an Intel-based machine cost? Starting at $2000? And then
it won't have any PCI slots I can buy a used G4 Mac, with PCI slots,
for a quarter of that price.
Obsolescence? I'm using this for displaying TV images, remember? My
TV is 8 years old. My amplifier is 15 years old. My loudspeakers are
27 years old. So they're obsolete too, but they still work fine. If
I buy a G4 Mac, I'll probably replace it with "last year"'s model when
the hardware fails.
