[BUGA] Palm: Tungsten T5 or Palm TX?

Hello,
Greg's thread on PDAs reminded me of how I _tried_ to buy a new Palm
PDA last month, but failed. (I'm not a member of the other lists Greg
posted to, so I'm starting a new thread.)
I've been a Palm fan since I bought a IIIx in about 1998. I currently
have a Zire 71. A few weeks ago, I started researching on upgrades
and promptly discovered there's no clear path. Initially I assumed
the Tungsten T5 was the obvious top-of-the-line Palm, but it's over a
year old now, has been (notionally) superseded by the TX, and doesn't
do wireless. Now I say 'notionally' above because the TX has less
memory and a slower CPU, and yet it's a year _newer_ than the
T5---what's going on here?
Further, there are an ever-decreasing number of stores in Adelaide
that stock them. I very nearly bought a T5 + wireless card from
Harvey Norman as a compromise between models, but despite their
computer system showing two units in stock, they in fact had none.
Are there any Palm fans on the list who could suggest an upgrade path
here? I suspect the answer is no---I've scoured their website
comparing all the models, and I just don't understand Palm's current
line-up. (Additionally: I don't need a phone or a camera in my PDA.
Bluetooth essential, wireless desirable. Oh, and the LifeDrive is way
too chunky.)
