<shrugs>
You never have to lift the stylus - this is a big speed thing.
You have a much larger area to aim for as well.

Speaking as someone who has actually used a PDA for the last 5+ years it has a 
much lower error rate while having a reasonable speed.

I disagree but I am too lazy to do any exhaustive tests :)
