They vary.

Some of them have the phone very poorly integrated with the PDA.  On
those you can reboot the PDA without the phone being affected at all.
It's essentially an independent mobile phone and an independent PDA
in one phone-shaped box.

Others have the phone and PDA very closely integrated.  On those, when
the PDA crashes you're hosed.  And the PDA -will- crash;  None of them
are spectacularly stable.
